About NACCTEP

The National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs (NACCTEP) organization was created in October of 2001 from appropriated grant funds awarded to the Maricopa County Community College District. The purpose of the organization was to promote the community college's role in the recruitment, preparation, retention, and renewal of diverse PreK-12 educators.

NACCTEP was established to serve as a voice for community colleges in national discussions about teacher education preparation; diversifying the teacher pipeline by providing prepared, talented, licensed, and effective individuals who support under-represented student populations and discuss barriers that impede their chances for success. NACCTEP supports institutions and individual members by enhancing current community college teacher education programs, serving as a resource for those looking to develop new programs, and serving as a liaison between community college teacher education programs and faculty.
